The Bell Gardens Recreation, Cultural, and Youth Commission was established to engage in, in consultation with the community, local groups and organizations, the study of the recreational, cultural, and youth needs of the community; to collect and study factual information relative to the various aspects of how various programs, services, and projects can benefit the recreation, cultural, and youth needs of the community; to advise the city council on the special recreation, cultural, and youth needs and concerns of the community regardless of age, religions, races, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and economic and social circumstances; to seek out nontraditional and innovative methods by which to increase the quality of life for residents; and to promote and encourage community interest and engagement in recreation, cultural, and youth activities.
