Commissioners earn a stipend of $100 per attendance at Commission meetings. Bell Gardens elected officials and employees may not serve on any Commission. Commissioners are only allowed to serve on one Commission at a time.
Residents interested in serving on a particular Commission should complete an "Application for Appointment" and submit it to the City Clerk’s Office via email, fax (562) 776-5347 or in person at City Hall. The City Clerk’s Office is located at 7100 Garfield Ave., Bell Gardens, CA 90201. The applications are accepted on a continuous basis and will be retained in the active file for two years.

Local Appointment List - Maddy Act
In compliance with the requirements of Government Code Section 54972 (Maddy Act), the following appointment list of the City of Bell Gardens Board and Commission members is posted on an annual basis by December 31. The City of Bell Gardens encourages residents to apply for positions in an effort to build an applicant pool representative of the entire community. Commissioners, Board Members, and Committee members serve at the pleasure of the legislative body, must be a Bell Gardens resident.
