- The City of Bell Gardens is now providing up to 12 months in rent subsidy to qualified renters at risk of homelessness.
- This assistance is made possible by the State’s PLHA (Permanent Local Housing Allocation) Program and the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA).
- To be eligible, households must meet the following criteria:
1. Have a minimum area median income (AMI) of 30%.
2. Be able to contribute 60% or more of their total monthly income towards rent. - Financial assistance will be in the form of a monthly rent subsidy paid directly to the landlord or property owner.
- Case management includes, but is not limited to, application review, housing stability assistance, homeless prevention, guidance with tracking expenses, managing bills, and prioritizing financial obligations.
- Assistance and funds will be available on a first-come, first serve basis and until funds are depleted.
