March is Women's History Month! This year marks the 100th anniversary of when the 19th Amendment was ratified, guaranteeing women the constitutional right to vote in the United States. To celebrate this important movement that changed the face of voting in the United States, LA County Library is holding events across their libraries to look back at women’s suffrage and the historical figures that lead the charge to women winning the vote. Check their website for special events happening this month: https://lacountylibrary.org/anniversary-19th-amendment/
Celebrate the 19th Amendment Centennial with the Bell Gardens Library as you enjoy a reading of Miss Paul and the President and learn about how hard the suffragettes worked for women to gain the right to vote. Afterwards, decorate your own suffragette sash and vote for your favorite children’s book character!
Location: Bell Gardens Library. 7110 Garfield Ave, Bell Gardens, CA 90201
Time: Wednesday, March 18 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
