Malala's Magic Pencil

March is Women's History Month!  This year marks the 100th anniversary of when the 19th Amendment was ratified, guaranteeing women the constitutional right to vote in the United States.  To celebrate this important movement that changed the face of voting in the United States, LA County Library is holding events across their libraries to look back at women’s suffrage and the historical figures that lead the charge to women winning the vote. Check their website for special events happening this month:  https://lacountylibrary.org/anniversary-19th-amendment/

LA County Library is kicking off Women’s History Month with learning about international icon and education activist Malala Yousafzai. Enjoy a special storytime featuring the book Malala’s Magic Pencil and then decorate a pencil case to hold your own magic pencil!

Location: Bell Gardens Library. 7110 Garfield Ave, Bell Gardens, CA 90201
Time:  Wednesday, March 4 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
