NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Bell Gardens will accept applications from qualified registered voters for appointment to the City Council to fill the vacancy created by a court judgement declaring Council Member Rodriguez vacated her Council seat.

The person appointed to fill the vacancy will hold office for the remaining unexpired term of the former incumbent. The term of office is up for election on November 2020.

California law requires that any person seeking appointment must be at least 18 years of age, a registered voter in the City of Bell Gardens, a resident of the City of Bell Gardens and a United States citizen.

Deadline to file an application is 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2020. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted by the City Clerk or considered by the City Council.
