Bell Gardens City Hall will be closed during the holidays (Friday, December 22, 2023 – Monday, January 1, 2024). Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. The following City offices will also be closed during the holidays:
•Bell Gardens Veterans Park Administration Office
•The Community Family Service Center at Veterans Park - Closed 12/25/23 and 1/1/24
•Senior Center at Veterans Park - Closed 12/25/23 and 1/1/24
•Clara Street Senior Center - Closed 12/25/23 and 1/1/24
•Ford Park Main Office
•Sport Office. Fields will be closed to the general public and available by reservation only. Sports office and fields will resume regular hours on 1/2
•Public Works Office Closed. To report emergencies, please contact the Police Department.
•City Planning, Building & Safety, Business License, and Economic Development Offices
•Code Enforcement Office. Urgent matters to be referred to the Police Department.
Other City offices, programs and services:
•Flu & COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic. The 12/25 and 1/1 Flu & COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics are canceled. The 12/27 & 1/3 Flu & COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic will be open from 2:30PM to 4PM at Bell Gardens Veterans Park.
•Supper Program. Closed on 12/25 & 1/1 (Veterans Park Game Room, Neighborhood Youth Center).
•Bell Gardens Veterans Park Game Room. Open 3PM to 6PM. Closed on 12/25 & 1/1
•Neighborhood Youth Center. Open 3PM to 6PM. Closed on 12/25 & 1/1
•Clara Street Senior Center. Closed on 12/25 & 1/1
•Golf Course will remain open 7AM to 3PM, last tee at 1PM, on 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, and 1/1, and all other days will operate during regular hours.
•Bell Gardens Resident Art and Yard Sale. The Bell Gardens Resident Art and Yard Sale will not operate on 12/22
•Job Corps. The 12/25 Job Corps Office hours at the Community Family Service Center are canceled.
•SPIRITT Family Services. The 12/27 SPIRITT Family Services Office hours at the Community Family Service Center are canceled.
•Chet Holifield Park Pool & Aquatics programming closed from 12/17 through 1/13. Aquatics programming will resume on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
•After-School Sites - NYC, Veterans Park and Ford Park Sites will be open from 11am – 5pm Tuesday through Friday
•The Dial-A-Ride (DART) and Trolley will NOT operate on 12/25 and 1/1. Trolley will operate regular schedule on 12/23 and 12/30. Trolley will end service at 3PM on 12/24 and 12/31.
•Holiday Street Sweeping. There will be no street sweeping on 12/25 and 1/1. When there is no street sweeping, it will NOT be made up. Streets can only be swept on the posted day.
•Trash Collection Schedule. When there is no trash collection, it WILL be made up. Trash will be collected the day after the normal collection day. For example, Monday’s trash will be collected on Tuesday.
•Sand & Sandbags are available at the Fire Station - LA County Fire Department - 7000 Garfield Ave. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
•Holiday Trees will be collected and recycled from 1/2 through 1/12/2024
•Police Department services will not be impacted by the holidays and will continue to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
•Public Records Request submitted during the holiday closure will be deemed received by the City Clerk’s office on January 2, 2024.
•Passports. No passport service appointments.
•City Council Meeting. The meeting for 12/25, City Council & Successor Agency meetings are canceled.
