HOUSING ELEMENT WORKSHOP
As the City is in the process of completing the General Plan Housing Element Update for the 2021-2029 Planning Period, the second Community Workshop will be taking place during a Special Planning Commission meeting on Wednesday, August 25th at 6:00 p.m. During the workshop staff and the consultant will introduce and provide the Planning Commission and the community with an overview of key issues discussed in the “DRAFT” Housing Element. The Workshop will allow the opportunity for the community and stakeholders to provide their input and ask questions to staff and the consultant regarding the future of housing and growth throughout the City.

La Ciudad está en el proceso de completar la Actualización del Elemento de Vivienda del Plan General para el Período de Planificación 2021-2029, el segundo Taller Comunitario se llevará a cabo durante una reunión de la Comisión Especial de Planificación el miércoles 25 de agosto a las 6:00 p.m. Durante el taller, el personal y el consultor presentarán y proporcionarán a la Comisión de Planificación y a la comunidad una visión general de los temas clave discutidos en el Elemento de Vivienda “PRELIMINARIO". El Taller permitirá la oportunidad para que la comunidad y las partes interesadas proporcionen sus comentarios y hagan preguntas al personal y al consultor con respecto al futuro de la vivienda y el crecimiento en toda la Ciudad.

PARKING LOT VENDING ORDINANCE WORKSHOP
During the Special Planning Commission meeting on Wednesday, August 25th, staff will be holding a public workshop to determine if there is any interest from the public and the Planning Commission to consider allowing private vendors to be able to sell within small commercial parking lots on a regular basis. The current Zoning Ordinance only allows such activity when related to the business on the property through a Special Events Permit a maximum of four (4) times per year. These activities are also known as pop-up markets, farmers markets, flea markets and/or swap meets.
TALLER DE ORDENANZAS DE VENTA DE ESTACIONAMIENTOS
Durante la reunión de la Comisión Especial de Planificación el miércoles 25 de agosto, el personal llevará a cabo un taller público para determinar si hay algún interés del público y la Comisión de Planificación para considerar permitir que los vendedores privados puedan vender dentro de pequeños estacionamientos comerciales de forma regular. La Ordenanza de Zonificación actual solo permite dicha actividad cuando está relacionada con el negocio en la propiedad a través de un Permiso de Eventos Especiales un máximo de cuatro (4) veces al año. Estas actividades también se conocen como mercados emergentes, mercados de agricultores, mercadillos y/ o reuniones de intercambio.

Pursuant to Executive Order N-29-20, please be advised that members of the Bell Gardens Planning Commission will participate in meetings telephonically. The public may view the meeting online. The Council Chamber is closed to the public at this time due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles County.

Please identify if you will comment on PUBLIC COMMENTS ON AGENDA ITEMS ONLY OR PUBLIC COMMENTS NOT ON THE AGENDA and limit your comments to 3 minutes maximum, which is the same time allotted at meetings. Emails will be read during the meeting and shall become records of the Planning Commission Meeting. To ensure distribution to the members of the Planning Commission prior to consideration of the agenda, please submit comments no later than one (1) hour prior to the meeting. 3. Telephone: Call the Community Development Department at (562) 806-7700 no later than one (1) hour prior to the meeting to let staff know that you would like to make a comment during the meeting. You will be asked for your name, phone number, and if you will comment on PUBLIC COMMENTS ON AGENDA ITEMS ONLY OR PUBLIC COMMENTS NOT ON THE AGENDA, and staff will call you during the meeting at the appropriate time.
